Herring Gull (Larus argentatus)

The Herring Gull is a large sized seagull (Family: Laridae, Order: Charandriiformes). The gull has a white body, silver gray wings, and pink legs and feet. The bill of the gull has a red marking on lower mandible. The further ends of the wings are black and the edges are white, forming a white-spotted black "tail" when the wings are folded.

The photo shows the gull bathing in the water. The gulls usually do not dive into the water to search for foods. The gulls are known for their dexterity. It has been reported that the Herring Gull even goes as far as to do "bait-fishing"(*).
