The Spotted Towhee is a passerine bird with a black head, red eyes, a black back with numerous white markings, red flanks, a white belly, an orange vent, and orange legs and feet.

This individual was defiantly singing on top of a pine tree.
The towhees are New World "American sparrows" (Emberizidae) that are not like the old world sparrows but buntings.
